Central Highlands teams up with Federation University
The Central Highlands Area Partnership has teamed up with Federation University Australia in a research collaboration to improve outcomes for children and young people.
The collaboration focuses on key projects, including:
- advance and apply research knowledge to improve outcomes in our three priority areas
- build a community of practice among practitioners, researchers, managers, educators and people with lived experience
- support organisations to design, implement and evaluate evidence-informed interventions that will improve outcomes for vulnerable young people from 0-18 years.
The first stage of the research collaboration is the funding of postgraduate research projects to undertake projects that have been co-designed by academics, practitioners and managers working in partner organisations.
Launched by Member for Wendouree Sharon Knight, the research collaboration has now welcomed seven postgraduate students taking part in the initative.
The postgraduate research projects have been collectively funded by members of the Area Partnership and are supported by industry supervision panels.
A similar research collaboration has also been established between the University and the Inner Gippsland Area Partnership, which has resulted in a further four research projects being conducted.
